DR. J.S. BHALLA , (MS, DNB, MNAMS) is a reknowned Senior Ophthalmologist. He is an alumnus of Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. He graduated and completed post-graduate training from Delhi University & was awarded WHO Fellowship from the prestigious LV Prasad Eye Institute (Hyderabad) .He specialises in Cataract Surgery, Glaucoma, and Medical Retina. He has about 37 years of Clinical experience & has trained many ophthalmologists in his illustrious career . He has authored 53 publications in peer-reviewed national and international journals & has published a booklet on Glaucoma Diagnostics. He is member of All India Ophthalmological Society ( AIOS ), Delhi Ophthalmological Society (DOS ), IIRSI( Intraocular implant & Refractive society), GSI( Glaucoma society of India ), USI, Oculoplastic association of India, ACOIN. He has served as Secretary DOS ( Largest state Ophthalmic Society of Asia ), Member, Scientific Committee AIOS. He is currently serving as Member Scientific Committee AIOS ,DOS Representative to AIOS ,Chairman Scientific Committee, ISMSICS (Delhi Chapter) & President Elect ACOIN (Delhi Chapter). He has got numerous Awards , notable among them are : Outstanding Ophthalmic Teacher Award (FOTI, 2024) ,DMA Eminent Teacher Award ( Delhi Medical Association, 2022) ,Krishna Sohan Singh Trophy for Best Clinical Talk( DOS 2022) ,Minoo Shroff Trophy for Best Clinical Meeting (DOS 2021 ) ,ACOIN Gold Medal( 2022) ,IIRSI Gold Medal( 2019) , AC Agarwal Trophy ( DOS 2018 ) ,Felicitated by National Eye Bank, AIIMS (2014–2021) ,Dr. R.N. Sabharwal Gold Medal – DOS (2017, 2018, 2021, 2022, 2024) ,Distinguished Resource Teaching Award – DOS (2017–2024) ,DMA Appreciation Award( 2016 ) ,Delhi Govt State Award (2015 ) Dr. Bhalla has received several prestigious Best Paper & Best publication Awards for his academic contributions, including:ISCKRS (2016) , Ophthaquest (2017 & 2018), DOS(2018 ,2019, 2020, 2024) AIOS Midterm( 2024) ,Best Publication Award, Indian Journal of Ophthalmology (IJO), 2021 He has been Chief Editor, DOS Times( 2021-2023 ) . He is currently on Editorial Board of Indian Journal of Ophthalmology & Delhi Journal of Ophthalmology & Reviewer, Asia Pacific Journal of Ophthalmology and JCOR (Journal of Maharashtra Ophthalmological Society) He is regularly invited as Guest Faculty to various State ,National and International Conferences including ESCRS (Vienna), APACRS (Bangkok, Bali). He has Successfully organized four major conferences for the renowned Delhi Ophthalmological Society (DOS) & has delivered 850 Guest Lectures and made 1,500 Podium Presentations at various national and international ophthalmology forums. Dr. Bhalla's dedication to the field of Ophthalmology is demonstrated through his Clinical expertise, Surgical skill ,extensive Academic work and significant contributions to national and international Ophthalmic societies.
